Photo Scanning Services

Digitizing is more than creating a digital copy, it’s preserving your story with intention. Many bulk scanning companies prioritize speed and volume. They offer low-resolution scans unless you pay more, and return your images with generic filenames like IMG_3456.jpg, leaving you with a digital mess to sort through on your own.

We do things differently.

Physical photo scanning is part of a larger, thoughtful process—one that begins with curation and organization, so you’re digitizing what truly matters. Scanning is most often the final step in bringing your family memories into the digital age.

Our Standard Scanning Services

Prep for Scanning: Once your collection is curated, categorized, and ready, then we scan. Your photos are gently cleaned and prepared, then scanned at archival-quality resolutions to ensure they’ll be around long into the future.

Archival-Quality Scanning: Prints are scanned at 600 dpi, and slides or negatives at 4000 dpi. We don’t offer “low-resolution” or tiered pricing. We believe in doing it right the first time. Every finished scan is suitable for archiving and high-quality output.

Basic color correction, back-of-the-photo scanning when writing is present, and image rotation are all part of our standard service.

File Naming & Structure: Your digital files are clearly named and organized to mirror your curated collection, making them easy to navigate and enjoy.

Delivery & Beyond: Your final files are delivered via USB drive, external hard drive, or secure cloud service, ready for sharing, printing, or future legacy projects, like slideshows and photo albums.

The result isn’t just a folder of images—it’s a refined, usable digital collection.

Have other media such as home movies, 3D objects, audio recordings, or artwork? We’re happy to discuss digitizing other analog formats. We invite you to get in touch so we can explore the best approach for your collection.

How Scanning is Priced

You may be wondering…

Digitizing protects your memories from loss, fading, and damage while making them easy to view, share, and preserve. A properly digitized collection ensures your photos live on beyond fragile prints and can be enjoyed by future generations without handling the originals.

Organizing first ensures you’re scanning meaningful, curated photos—not clutter. It creates a digital archive that’s easier to navigate and results in a collection you’ll actually use and enjoy.

It also prevents spending time and money scanning items you don’t want or need.

When available, scanning the negative often produces the highest-quality digital file because it contains more image information than a print.

However, negative scanning is more time-intensive and requires specialized equipment, which makes it more expensive than print scanning. We’re happy to help you determine which option makes the most sense for your goals, budget, and collection.

Yes. We scan at archival-quality resolutions that allow for high-quality reprints and enlargements. This means your digitized images are suitable for photo books, wall art, and custom prints—without sacrificing clarity or detail.

Delivery depends on the size of your collection. Smaller projects are typically delivered on a USB drive, while larger collections are provided on an external hard drive. We can also offer secure online delivery options if you’d prefer cloud-based access or long-term digital storage.

Children’s artwork, historical documents, older analog media, album pages, scrapbooks, and 3-dimensional memorabilia, can all be digitized.

If you have items like these, please reach out and we can discuss options or help coordinate with our trusted partners.

We scan prints at 600 ppi and slides or negatives at 4000 ppi to ensure long-term preservation and flexibility for future use. We don’t offer “low-resolution” tiers—every scan is done at a level suitable for archiving and high-quality output.

Basic adjustments, such as image rotation and light color enhancements, are included. Yellowed and faded photos are corrected.

More advanced restoration or retouching can be added if desired and is quoted separately based on the condition of the images and the level of work involved.

Yes. Files are delivered with clear, meaningful naming conventions that make sense for your needs. We never use generic camera-style filenames. This makes your digital archive easy to navigate and maintain long after your project is complete.

Scanning is typically part of a larger organizing project. Limited scanning-only projects may be available depending on scope, with a $150 minimum. We’re always happy to discuss whether your project is a good fit.

We scan everything at archival quality (600 ppi for prints, 4000 ppi for slides and negatives), with no low-resolution tiers. Your files come back organized and clearly named, with basic color correction included, and we handle your photos as if they were our own.
